Reading or viewing these resources will not make you a street medic. We figure most of you knew that, but we just wanted to make it 100% clear.
Airborne Disease Safety
Start with basic precautions. Wearing a mask is better than not wearing one. Social distancing is effective.
COVID vaccines are strongly recommended. You can get them at your local pharmacy, sometimes free of charge. (Get the flu shot while you’re at it. Influenza is no joke.)
Where to Learn First Aid
Can’t make it to one of our trainings right away but want to brush up on your CPR or first aid skills? Here are some options:
- The American Red Cross
- The American Heart Association
- The National Safety Council (more workplace-focused)
- The absolute basics from Where There Is No Doctor
Remember – none of those make you a street medic, but it never hurts to get in some extra practice. Our training covers much more than this, including streetwise tips, buddying safely, and our code of ethics.
